Several role players were involved in the arrest of a suspect in Linbro Park.

On 20 January at about 11am, an alert was received for a stolen Toyota Hilux that was taken in Modderfontein.

This according to Sergeant Desmond Subramoney of the Johannesburg Flying Squad who said the suspect or suspects took the stolen vehicle to Linbro Park where they removed the tracking device from the vehicle.

ZSS Security proceeded to the location and backup was requested to ensure the area was surrounded.

Subramoney said the vehicle was spotted and pursued on the N3 southbound.

“The suspect abandoned the vehicle and jumped over the wall by the landfill site in Linbro Park.”

He added that the police gave chase on foot. The area was surrounded and a search was implemented and the suspect was found hiding in thick brush.

“The badly stripped vehicle and the suspect was taken to Sandringham Police Station.”

Subramoney said a further investigation was underway.
